Learning Effectiveness
S2 Learning employs instructional design techniques that have been proven effective in empirical studies. The following outlines the results of the research studies that support S2's techniques.
S2 Learning Training
S2 Leaning employs performance based instructional design techniques incorporating elements that support its high degree of effectiveness, including:
- Careful content analysis and development
- Pre-testing and post-testing
- Practice
- Interactivity with appropriate feedback
These elements combine to create instructional environments that surpasses traditional learning environments.
Traditional environments do not include some or all of the instructional elements listed above. For example, the charts below depict data from research that tested the S2's instructional strategies against traditional training that did not include appropriate content analysis or practice. The charts show data for four different tests. The first test evaluated basic learning by testing the learner with content in a format exactly like that used when the content was trained. The second test evaluated the learner's ability to remember basic content. This test was the same as the first test, however, it was given a full month after the training was complete. The third test evaluated the learner's ability to use the content for novel problem solving. This test presented questions that required the learner to use the content in ways that were not exactly like those presented during the training. Finally, remembering and problem solving were tested in the fourth test, which utilized novel problems and was delayed for a full month after training.
S2 Training vs. Traditional Training
This chart depicts the increased accuracy with which the S2 trained learners were able to respond under each of the four testing conditions. These data suggest that learner's trained with curricula developed by S2 will learn better, remember longer, and be able to solve problems with the content they have learned much more effectively.
Performance Speed Comparison
This chart depicts data that show how much faster S2 trained students were able to respond during each of the tests. This suggests that learners trained with curricula developed by S2 are, in addition to being more accurate, able to work faster than individuals who have been trained traditionally.
